Days on the river, the vines and the stage
Nothing here needs a car. The bicycles, the theatre, the river path and the kitchen are all within a few minutes of your loft; for the Falls, we drive.

Two wheels to the wineries
Take a bicycle from the yard, follow our hand-drawn map along the quiet concession roads and visit three estates before lunch. We book the tastings; a van collects any bottles you buy.

An evening at the Shaw
The Shaw Festival’s three theatres are a nine-minute walk away. We hold a small allocation of seats for guests and serve an early supper at Retort from 17:30.

Preserving class
Two and a half hours in the Pantry kitchen with our preserves cook: sterilising, filling and sealing whatever is ripe that week. You leave with six jars and the recipes.

The Falls before the crowds
Our car leaves at 6:15 and follows the Parkway upstream to Horseshoe Falls, with coffee and pastries on board. Back in time for a second breakfast.

The river path
The Niagara River Recreation Trail begins at the edge of town. Walk to Fort George and back in an hour, or cycle the full length south to Queenston Heights.

Icewine weekends
When the grapes freeze on the vine, the region pours icewine by outdoor fires. We add a Retort dinner built around it and a late breakfast the morning after.

Our favourite loop
Twenty-two kilometres, three tasting rooms, one long lunch
Leave the yard at ten, ride out along Niagara Stone Road to the first estate, cut across on the concession roads to the second, and roll down to the Parkway for lunch overlooking the river. The ride back along the water path is flat all the way.
We give every guest the printed map. Children’s bikes and trailers are available; e-bikes can be hired in town for CAD 60 a day.
